Creative, intuitive and daring, Maca and Dani both complement one another and live for gastronomy. With their Mallorcan prudence, they are able to do anything: to innovate, come up with fresh ideas and hit the mark when doing things (even the same old things) in new ways.
Mallorcan chef Maca de Castro is the only woman on the island with a Michelin-star restaurant. She and her brother Dani de Castro direct this catering service and all of the Grupo de Castro’s other businesses.
Both of them have been passionate about gastronomy since they were children. They still smile when recounting quarrels they would have over eating their father’s tarte Tatin for breakfast or Maca’s discovery of the exquisite flavour of what she called “spaghetti with eyes”, which were in fact eels! As children, their parents instilled in them a love for food. They have dedicated years of hard work and effort to this love, and this has enabled them to surround themselves with a team that shares their drive and their passion. It is the siblings, along with this team, that make up the Grupo de Castro.
Maca and Dani created the DCastro Group as the umbrella brand for all of the family businesses and to further themselves professionally.
The de Castro siblings got started with this family business at a very young age, and today they are a professional team that focuses on high-quality contemporary cuisine.
